How to Close HDFC Securities Account?
The closure of an HDFC Securities Demat account can be carried out through either online or offline methods. The online closure process is exclusively applicable to Demat accounts with zero holdings, whereas the offline closure process is suitable for any type of Demat account.
To initiate the online closure of your HDFC Securities Demat account, you must access the account closure page on the HDFC Securities website and submit your closure request.
Steps to Close an HDFC Securities Demat Account:
Download the Demat account closure form (CDSL) provided by HDFC Securities.
Step 1: Complete the form with your client details and account holder names.
Step 2: Specify the reason for closing the account.
Step 3: Provide information about any securities, if present, and include beneficiary details for transfers.
Step 4: Sign the completed form and submit it to the nearest HDFC Securities branch.
Step 5: HDFC Securities makes the CDSL Demat account closure form available on their website.
However, if you have an account with NSDL, you can seek assistance by sending an email to customercare@hdfcsec.com.
It is advisable to close your HDFC Securities Demat account if you are not actively using it, as it may incur fees and maintenance charges.
